Lastminute.com promotes Baker
LASTMINUTE.com head of UK sales Helen Baker has been promoted to UK managing director five months after joining the on-line company.Baker was previously director of marketing and service delivery at Magic Travel Group and has also worked for Avis and Thomson in the past.
Her old job has been split into three roles – head of travel, head of retail and head of leisure – to cope with the expansion in the company’s supplier base. Former head of airlines Nicky Denvir has been appointed head of travel.
Baker’s predecessor as UK managing director, David Kelly, who joined lastminute.com from on-line retailer Amazon last March, has been promoted to the newly created position of head of global operations.
Lastminute.com recently announced the acquisition of French rival Degriftour Group for £58.9 million in cash and shares.
