AGENTS, trade partners, staff and businesses are to be given the chance of a sneak preview of Bristol International Airport’s new £27m terminal later this month.
From next Monday, the airport will be inviting people aboard a virtual reality ride to give them a tour of the facility before its opening in March.
The six-minute ride takes visitors through the terminal to give an impression of the improved check-in, departure, arrivals and also the shopping areas.
Staff will be on-hand to answer questions, including those concerning the terminal’s unique ability to offer one domestic and international departure lounge following clearance from security officials.
Passengers will have their images checked at boarding to ensure they match ones at security desks.
Some 7,000 people will be invited to try the ride next month.
The initiative is the work of marketing director Mike Luddy’s team.
He used a similar publicity idea while showing off Gatwick’s North Terminal before it opened.
Agents from Exeter, Cardiff and Bristol attended roadshows to find out the Bristol terminal’s advantages before the busy booking period started.
