Stansted rail link revamp

Stansted Express has unveiled its first refurbished train following a £10m investment from train company WAGN last year.

The fleet of nine blue, orange and silver trains will now come into service at a rate of one a week. They will offer passengers airline-style reclining seats, power points for laptops and mobile phones and a new business-class section.

The 40-minute service from London Liverpool Street to Stansted will also serve refreshments from Costa Coffee.

Stansted Express general manager Debbie Ellis said: “Stansted really is a serious alternative for today’s business market where time is money.”

Stansted Express will officially launch next month.
