WTB restarts national awards

The Wales Tourist Board has relaunched its national awards scheme by introducing 11 new categories, claiming it brings the scheme more up-to-date.

New categories include Best Information Technology Innovation. WTB chairman Philip Evans said: “The categories represent the length, breadth and depth of what the tourism has to offer visitors to Wales.”

This year’s awards are being sponsored by the Daily Post and the Western Mail. “I see the competition not only as a chance to acknowledge high standards of professionalism and service but also as an opportunity for finalists to use the scheme as a positive marketing tool,” said Evans.

The awards ceremony will take place on December 8 in the National Museum and Galleries of Wales in Cardiff.

Tickets cost £35 per head, plus VAT.
