* eurostar closure of ashford international
Eurostar will close its Ashford Internationalterminal on the weekend of September 30 and October 1 due to engineering work on the new Channel Tunnel Rail Link. London services will not be affected.
* bass group appoints clarke to top role
Bass Leisure Retail chief executive Tim Clarke will become chief executive of the Bass Group on October 1, taking over from Sir Ian Prosser. Prosser, currently chairman and chief executive, will continue as chairman.
