THE Qualiflyer Group and Galileo International have announced the introduction of electronic ticketing in the UK, Belgium, Portugal and Switzerland. The enhanced service allows Galileo subscribers in all four markets to produce electronic tickets for travel on Swissair, Sabena, TAP, Air Portugal and Crossair. Galileo’s alliance account manager for the Qualiflyer Group Jereon Care said: “Galileo and The Qualiflyer Group have been aggressively working together on this project for several months. After a successful beta test, we have now moved to full deployment. “Galileo has always recognised the importance of airline alliances to provide solutions that are beneficial for all parties involved.” In total, ticketless travel on Qualiflyer partner services is possible between 28 cities in nine European countries. This is in addition to the nine destinations in the USA and Canada, which have been available since July. Over the coming months, electronic ticketing will be expanded to include additional carriers within The Qualiflyer Group and the markets they serve.
