* vlm airlines begins bonus points scheme
VLM Airlines has launched a frequent-flyer programme for business and economy passengers. The new scheme, called VLM Bonus Points, will enable business-class passengers to receive every sixth flight free, with only tax payable. Economy passengers will benefit with every 11th flight free, not excluding tax.
* srilankan launches limousine pick-up
SriLankan Airlines has launched a limousine service for business-class passengers travelling on any of the carrier’s nine weekly services to Colombo. The service will be free of charge and available to passengers within a 50-mile radius of Heathrow. Passengers living further afield can pay a supplement for longer journeys. Limousine bookings should be made through SriLankan Airlines’ reservations department at least 48 hours before departure on 020-8538 2001.
* belleair seat-only sales rise by 20%
Malta specialist Belleair Holidays has seen a 20% increase in seat-only sales this year, following increased distribution through the trade. Thetop-performing regional departure points this year have been Birmingham and Newcastle. Belleair will sell seats to Malta next year on scheduled Air Malta flights at £148 from Heathrow, £168 from Gatwick and Manchester, £129 from Stansted, £169 from Birmingham and £177from Glasgow. All prices include taxes.
