Hilton to sell six UK properties

HILTON International is to sell six of its four-star Hilton branded hotels in the UK.

Explaining the move, Hilton UK and Ireland managing director Grant Hearn said: “Each of the hotels are profitable and have a loyal customer base but they don’t meet our criteria for investment and development in terms of future strategy and business mix.”

The hotels are the Hilton Bath Waterside, Hilton Edinburgh Belford, Hilton Huddersfield, Hilton Leeds Garforth, Hilton Newcastle and Hilton Stoke-on-Trent.

Three of the hotels are Stakis properties rebranded under the Hilton banner earlier this year. All six will be offered for sale as going concerns either on an individual basis or as a group.
