Avis Europe has opened its second pan-European call centre. The centre, in Barcelona, will take calls from clients in Spain, France, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy and Portugal and is expected to handle more than 60,000 calls a week, once it is fully operational. The first centre opened in Manchester in March.
* TWAto axe two disappointing routes
TWA is axing itsNew York-Lisbon and New York-Milan services from next January due to poor sales. However, it is adding daily non-stop services between St Louis and Frankfurt next spring as well as a three-times daily service between Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Marston Hotels has bought the 75-room three-star Winchester Royal for an undisclosed sum. The purchase takes the number of properties in theUK-based group to 12 owned and two managed properties.
