Thomas Cook adds flight to on-line service
THOMASCook has added a new flight section to its Web site as it begins an international roll-out of the on-line service.
The upgraded section will now offer both scheduled and net fares and, along with sun and snow-based product, will form one of three redesigned sub sites.
Thomascook.com managing director Andrew Windsor said: “Previously we only offered scheduled fares linked to Worldspan. Net fares were not bookable on-line.”
Windsor added that its flights section will be rolled out across Canada in the first phase of its international expansion.
“We have vast experience in selling travel and services in Canada so it makes sense for us to begin our expansion in this market,” he said.
Windsor added further developments to the site will include long-haul product.
“At the moment we only offer packaged JMC and Cosmos holidays but will be putting more long-haul scheduled product on-line,” he said.
“More than 30% of our hits on the site have been for long haul and even though we have not been able to fulfil the requests, there is clearly demand.”
