Cockell takes HBAA position

BSIgroup marketing director Charles Cockell has been appointed chairman-elect of the Hotel Booking Agents’ Association.

Cockell is a founder members of the corporate hotel trade organisation set up four years ago. He replaces Mike Thirkettle who will remain on the HBAA’s committee.

“I was persuaded to put my name forward two months ago. I had hesitated because of my work at BSI but things are moving so dramatically in the industry right now that it seemed the right thing to do,” said Cockell.

“We’re increasingly recognised by the hotel industry and during my term in office, I will be seeking to build on that to raise awareness with the trade.”
