Thomson unveils new brochures
THOMSON has become the first operator to release details of its 2001/02 winter programmes in a move that will prompt rivals to follow suit.
Thomson group brand manager Richard Nealon said as long as it remained economical, early launches will stay.
“It generates considerable business from people who know exactly where they want to go,” he said.
The programmes go on sale on November 2. Capacity to Cyprus has been increased by 20% with the introduction of Protaras and Nissi Beach. Weekly flights to Paphos from Stansted and Cardiff, and Larnaca from Gatwick, Luton and Manchester have been introduced. Thomson has added three gold properties in Cyprus and Lanzarote, taking the number to eight. Nealon said it was adopting a cautious approach to overall capacity but declined to reveal figures. He also refused to reveal price increases. The programme leads in at £109 per person for seven nights in the Algarve.
