Operator to benefit from relocation

BREAKAWAY will benefit from joining Thomson’s specialist holiday division when it relocates from Richmond to Kingston next spring, according to commercial director Jane Colledge.

Speaking at the launch of the operator’s 2001 cities programme, she said its finance, systems and human resources functions will all come under a group department.

“It’s early days to say exactly how it will work but we fully expect the positives to outweigh the negatives,” she said. “We will benefit from the division’s systems in particular. For example, we don’t have access to the Intranet at the moment but will have when we relocate. It will make our communications more effective.”
