Growth prompts Gill Airways to boost Newcastle services

GILL Airways is to boost services on its Newcastle to London and Aberdeen routes from November 20.

The major changes will be seen at Stansted, which will receive an extra Newcastle daily return flight, increasing the service to three per day. Gill is also adding a Saturday flight from Stansted. The improvements to the service are in response to growth since Gill Airways took over the route from KLM UK a year ago.

The airline is also upgrading the Newcastle to Aberdeen service with the introduction of a 48-seat ATRaircraft. Gill will also add an Aberdeen to Newcastle service. A promotional lead-in return fare costs £79.

Gill Airways commercial director Colin Pollard said: “More people are discovering that Stansted offers a speedy alternative Heathrow and Gatwick. Our research also shows the development potential as business people become aware of all the other regions within easy reach of Stansted.”
