Alaska
Region to turn spotlight on lodges and tours
ALASKA is represented at World Travel Market by suppliers whose product includes cruises, air and land tours and exclusive lodges.
Holland America Tours, formerly known as Grayline Tours, is the ground-handling division of the Holland America cruise parent company, and will have director of sales Gillian Clark at the show.
Alaskan company Within the Wild is operating a selection of exclusive lodges owned by Kirsten and Carl Dixon.
They will be giving information about accommodation, which is of particular interest to those keen on fishing and wildlife.
Donna Claus, owner of wilderness lodge Ultima Thule, will also be returning to WTM to present her product as well as representing the Alaska Holidays group that includes Ketchum Air, Phillips Cruises and the Best Western Barratt Inn in Anchorage.
In addition, a member of the Alaska Travel Industry Association will be on the stand, where spot prizes will be given away each day to visitors answering questions correctly.
During WTM week, Alaska will be finalising its planned UK sales mission. It is scheduled to take in London and Manchester and Gatwick the week before ITB (Berlin) in March.
