&#42 avro flight guide covers mediterranean

Avro has launched an agent flight guide that lists the 20 Mediterranean destinations it flies to, departure airports and weekday schedules. There is also information about additional Avro services such as car hire, airport parking, insurance,pre-bookable seats and executive lounges.

&#42 sabre blames job cuts for profits slump

Global distribution system supplier Sabre’s profits slumped by 43% during the third quarter of this year. Total profits between July and September fell from £54 million last year to £30 million. The cost of axing 1,200 jobs and recent acquisitions are being blamed for the fall.

&#42 bA increases services from gatwick to jersey

British Airways has increased its Gatwick-Jersey service from four to six-flights daily. The route is operated by BA’s Gatwick-based subsidiary CityFlyer Express. Return flights start from £69 including taxes.

&#42 whitbread funds bolstered by hotels

Marriott-owner Whitbread’s operational profits for the six months to September this year increased by 5.8% to £46 million. The hotel division which includes all Marriott properties in the UK plus the budget Travel Inn brand saw profits increase 85% to £46 million for the first half of the year compared to last year.

&#42 kosmar launches web site for agents

Kosmar Holidays has launched a dedicated Web site for agents allowing them to make on-line bookings. The site, www.kosmaronline.co.uk, will also give agents a detailed breakdown of their sales statistics, view non-brochured properties and order brochures. The operator said it would provide agents with a better selling tool than viewdata.
