LUTON Airport may still close down over the Christmas period
because of a strike, although no dates have been agreed upon.
A spokesman for the Transport and General Workers Union said
a strike would go ahead if better terms and conditions for workers could not be
attained.
He added that an agreement was possible as talks between the
two sides are ongoing. A statement issued by the airport said contingency plans
are in place to minimise disruption if there is a strike.
The TGWU voted to take action earlier this month following a
business review of the airport. Some workers faced a pay cut as a result of the
review.
