TOUR operator JMC has axed the ill-fated Club Aguamar from
its programme next year after a series of health scares this summer.
JMC pulled out of the property in August after 31 confirmed
and several suspected cases of gastric illness (Travel Weekly August 28).
The operator expected the problems to be solved in time for
next summer but deputy managing director Terry Williamson said he was still not
satisfied.
“The Aguamar won’t feature for 2001 as we remain unconvinced
about the safety procedures in place,” he said.
He declined to comment further for legal reasons.
