I WRITE in response to Sally Butler’s letter of (Travel Weekly September 27) about employers being out of touch with college courses.
We do indeed give ourcandidates the opportunity to gain a qualification in their first season, however, their training period extends far beyond summer. Prior to joining Thomson, they go through a rigorous selection process and learning period including an intensive month of practical training overseas.
The excellent Thomson training and development infrastructure, together with regular assessments in awork situation allows us to give candidates the chance to achieve their potential more quickly.
