* icelandair increases flights to reykjavik
Icelandair is to increase weekly flights from Heathrow to Reykjavik from 11 to 13. To counter Iceland’s expensive image, the airline has also lowered fares from £199 to £148 inclusive of taxes. The fares are available now, with the first of new flights starting on April 9 and the second on May 30.
* airlinks’ direct coach to luton and stansted
Airport coach company AirLinks has launched a direct service from Coventry and Birmingham to Luton and Stansted Airports. Return fares from Birmingham start at £16 to Luton and £24 to Stansted.
* aer lingus offers free massage treatments
Aer Lingus is offering Gold Circle Club members visiting their dedicated lounge in Dublin Airport a free 20-minute massage. Branded “ishimi,” treatments are available for the head, back, feet and a rehydrating facial is also being offered.
* gb airways cuts apex fair to malta by 38%
GBAirways has cut its seven-day apex fare from Heathrow to Malta by 38% for flights on Tuesday and Friday evenings until May 15. The reduction brings the return fare down to £149. Travel must include a Saturday night stopover.
* helios launches first scheduled operation
Charter carrier Helios Airways is launching its first scheduled flights. A Larnaca-Sofia service starts on Thursday and will be followed by Larnaca-Dublin and Belfast flights. Dates for the Ireland services have not been confirmed, but they are likely to start in the autumn.
