Qatar Airways unveils new holidays division
Qatar Airways launched its Qatar Airways Holidays division to specialist UKtour operators last month in London with tourism development firmly in mind.
The destination is already represented by the Inter-Continental, Ritz-Carlton and Sheraton chains, and Four Seasons is among those expected to announce new properties in the country.
Qatar’s infrastructure plans will also feature on its expanded stand at the Arabian Travel Market.
Direct representation will come from Qatar Airways and the Qatar National Hotels Company, while several Qatari hotels will be represented at the stands of other hotel chains.
“Last year 74 travel trade professionals from Qatar visited the show and we look forward to increasing that figure by a further 10% this year,” said a spokesperson. “Qatar is making tremendous strides in building its international profile, both for tourism and business travel.
“Many industry eyes are on Qatar’s plans to host the World Trade Organisation meeting next year and the Asian Games in 2006 . This is a market the worldwide industry cannot ignore.”
