Get your facts right before replying, BA
I WOULD like to respond to Amanda Amos, sales manager at British Airways, Scotland, who made a meagre attempt (Travel Weekly April 9) to investigate the inflexibility Iencountered with overlapping dates for six clients travelling to Madrid, details of which you published the previous week.
Ms Amos claims “the agent is not a member of International Air Transport Association and does not have a directrelationship with BA”. For the record, we are and have been members of the International Air Transport Association for 15 years. We have a direct marketing agreement with BA and, as the six bookings were made directly on our central reservation system, we were at all times in control of the reservations.
We were surprised at her reply and would be interested to ascertain how she came to these conclusions.
The letter is so far from the truth, I wonder if this is not simply an attempt by BA’s pr department to defend the unwillingness of BA Rapport and the BA account managers to respond to an issue that clearly merits investigation?
