Hilton to reopen Dubrovnik hotel

HILTON International is to reopen the 150-room Grand Imperial Hotel in Dubrovnik following a £14 million renovation.

The hotel, which was closed by the war in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s, is just outside Dubrovnik’s old city walls and is owned by merchant shipping company Atlantska Plovdiva. It will reopen as the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik in the middle of next year.

Built in 1987 to serve Dubrovnik’s expanding cruise industry, the Grand Imperial will be targeted at both the business and leisure markets, with 14 meeting rooms and a health club.

&#42 Hilton has opened the 246-room Hilton Sofia in the Bulgarian capital. The hotel is linked to the Palace of Culture conference and exhibition centre, which can hold up to 4,000 delegates.
