Budget has added airport taxes as a standard inclusion in the Go Budget leisure rental rate. The company claims most people collect their cars at an airport, where they have to pay the charge anyway.

Hertz is launching its NeverLost satellite guidance system in the UK in the first quarter this year, ahead of rolling it out in Europe. Aimed at business travellers and incoming tourists, it will be offered at key airport locations in cars from group B upwards. The cost of renting has not been decided, but a Neverlost car costs an extra $6 a day in the US.

National has appointed Keith Bowles as national sales director. He replaces Neil McCrossan, who has been promoted to vice-president sales Europe, responsible for developing business outside the UK.
