DIRECT Holidays is considering quitting ABTA if it loses its
appeal against a Newman Street code-of-conduct ruling.
The Airtours-owned company was fined £25,000 for damaging
the reputation of ABTA’s members after an advertising campaign depicted agents as
middlemen who offer no value to the public.
Airtours UK Leisure Group chief executive Richard Carrick
revealed it was now reviewing Direct Holidays’ membership of the association.
