HOLIDAYMAKERS should not be concerned about travelling to
Cyprus despite violent clashes outside a British military base, the Foreign and
Commonwealth Office has said.
A spokeswoman for the FCO said: “The clashes were nowhere
near the tourist areas so there was no need for any particular change of
advice.”
The clashes took place late on Tuesday at RAF Akrotiri when
a protest by locals against plans to build radio masts at the British base
turned violent.
