EXPEDIA.CO.UK
has unveiled plans to increase its distribution network by allowing third-party
websites to sell its products.
The
on-line agency is giving away technology for free which allows other websites to
become an ‘affiliate’. They will then receive a commission payment for selling
goods on Expedia’s behalf.
Business
development manager for Expedia.co.uk Tim Hughes said the new scheme is aimed
at small and medium sized websites and that 200 companies have already signed
up.
“We want people to be able to sell travel and we will pay
them to do so,” Hughes commented.
Details of the affiliate programme can be found at www.expedia.co.uk/affiliate.
