Lunn declares 2002 as Year of Business Travel

GUILD OF business Travel Agents chairman Don Lunn has
designated 2002 as the Year of the Business Traveller.

The GBTA plans to work with airlines, car-rental companies,
rail firms and hotels, including Virgin Atlantic, bmi british midland and Avis,
in a bid to raise the profile of the industry sector.

The GBTA hopes this initiative will ensure that the public,
the Government and other decision makers know how important business travel is
to the UK economy.

Lunn said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the
Government to tie in with a campaign that can only boost Britain’s trading
success.”

However, Lunn admitted the GBTA had to shoulder some of the
blame for failing to raise its own profile.
