More BAH jobs at risk in move

FURTHER job cuts are expected following news that up to 120
staff face relocation to Peterborough in the final restructure of Accoladia,
the Thomas Cook Holidays and BA Holidays joint venture.

British Airways’ Crawley-based database, finance, human
resources and systems department are moving to Cambridgeshire along with the
Cities and Florida product teams.

Staff are being offered help with relocation. For those who
decide not to go, retraining and voluntary redundancy packages are on offer.

Managing director Simon Laxton said: “We are doing
everything possible to encourage relocation and retain skilled individuals.”

Sales and marketing will be split across the two sites,
while quality assurance and other product teams will stay in Crawley. The new
head of sales and marketing will be based in Peterborough, but no replacement
has been found for Colin Whaley, who returns to British Airways in October. A
shortlist of five has been drawn up.

Once all the departments are in place the company expects 70
people to be based in Crawley and 480 in Peterborough. In June the company said
up to 200 staff from customer services and reservation operations faced
relocation. So far, only 30 have expressed an interest in moving.
