The
Empire State Building’s 86th floor observatory will reopen for business on October
6, coinciding with the Columbus Day bank holiday weekend in the US.
New
York visitors have been unable to go up the popular landmark – now the city’s
tallest skyscraper – since the terrorist attack on the World Trade Centre on
September 11.
The observatory was opened for a trial period on September
29 and 30. The top of the building will remain illuminated in red, white and
blue until the end of November.
