amadeus does not expect to hit growth targets

GLOBAL distribution and technology company Amadeus does not
expect to meet its growth targets for the year following the September 11 attacks
in the US.

President and chief executive officer José Antonio Tazón
said: “The resulting political and economic uncertainty means it is not yet
possible to predict the impact these events will have on our fourth quarter
performance and business for the year. We do not, however, expect to meet our
original growth targets for 2001.”

Figures released by the company show a 27.5% drop in air
bookings between September 11 and September 30, but bookings crept up again
early this month.

When it releases its third quarter results in the next few
weeks , Amadeus expects to report a total of 90 million bookings, both air and
non air, a decline of 3.6% compared to the same quarter last year. Revenue,
meanwhile, is expected to be £860.2 million, 17% up on the third quarter in
2000.
