Company to launch apartment hotel

CENTRAL Apartments will launch its apartment hotel, The Atrium in Manchester, at Business Travel Manchester 2001.

The property is the company’s first venture outside London and comprises 115 fully equipped apartments.

The development is a result of a £4 million conversion of a Grade II-listed building on Princess Street.

As well as a 24-hour guest relations co-ordinator, The Atrium offers a daily maid service, personalised shopping service, health club with pool and spa, plus a meeting room for up to 10 people.

The apartments have mini-kitchens, each with a dishwasher and microwave, satellite TV, modem connections and power showers.

Central Apartments managing director Philip Cairns said: “Serviced apartments are the very latest travel trend.

“Traditionally the market for this type of facility has been constrained either by the required length of stay or by uncertain and inconsistent standards.

He added: “With Central Apartments, there is no minimum stay and our consistent value-for-money standards are comparable to those of a four-star hotel.”

Cairns said: “The Atrium is our first venture outside London and is, to my mind, very long overdue.”

The group, which already operates apartments in Kensington, South Kensington and Notting Hill, is opening a fourth London property in Bayswater next April and a 106-apartment property in Glasgow next June.

At The Atrium, Central Apartments is offering an introductory rate starting at £92 a night until the end of this month. After that, executive studio apartments will cost £115, one-bedroomed apartments from £135 and two-bedroomed units from £165 per night.
