A NEW STUDY has revealed the majority of travellers will not
change their plans despite the military action in Afghanistan.
The Travel Confidence Index, carried out on behalf of on-line
agency Expedia.co.uk, found 70% of people will not change their travel plans
while 60% said the conflict had no impact on their choice of destination.
Only 4% are to scrap their travel plans altogether, while
21% are looking to holiday in the UK. An opportunistic 5% hope to take
advantage of cheap deals and take a break in a long-haul destination.
A total of 864 adults were questioned by ICM Research
between October 12 and October 14 for the survey.
Expedia.co.uk plans to carry out a similar study every month
for the foreseeable and will make the results public.
