strike disrupts French air traffic

AIR TRAFFIC to France will be severely disrupted today
because of a strike by air traffic controllers.

Air France has cancelled 85% of its domestic and European
flights and 5% of its long haul flights. British Airways has also cancelled
France-bound services and has advised customers there could be delays because
some flights are being re-routed to avoid French airspace.

Budget carrier easyJet has also cancelled a number of
flights.

It has been reported the traffic controllers are protesting
against plans to overhaul Europe’s air traffic control system.

The strike is expected to last until 6am tomorrow morning.
