DUTCH flag carrier KLM has revealed a net loss of £55
million for the quarter ending December 31.
The figure compares to an operating profit for the same period
last year of £28 million.
KLM president and chief executive officer Leo van Wijk said:
“It is a credit to the organisation’s resilience and flexibility that it was
able to respond to the decline in demand, especially for passenger travel,
after the events of September 11. Through a variety of actions the negative
impact on the bottom line was less than initially foreseen and we were able to
achieve a positive cash flow.”
