Touroperator systems supplier TraveLink has signed up European and Caribbean specialist Harlequin Worldwide Travel as a client. The tour operator, which previously used Data Management Group as its system supplier, has become the first company to acquire TraveLink’s new client server system. The company claims that the new system combines a huge database with simple, PC-style software for users. The system can then store complicated business rules which ensures that every aspect of every booking complies with the tour operator’s standard procedures.

Travelworld has acquired the one-branch Thompson Travel in Bradford. Managing director Trevor Davis said that the number of Travelworld outlets will not be increasing because the company has merged another branch into the Bradford location in order to avoid causing area duplication. All staff at Thompson Travel have been retained.
n infotravel rebrand to travelfromhere.com
The on-line travel directory, infotravel.co.uk, which features more than 1,000 links to UK travel Websites, has been rebranded and is now called travelfromHere.com. The directory was launchedby Paul Richer,senior partner at travel technology consultancy Genesys.
