MYTRAVEL
chairman David Crossland has postponed his retirement for up to a year
following chief executive Tim Byrne’s resignation.
Crossland
will take over the day-to-day running of the company until a replacement for
Byrne is found.
MyTravel
said Byrne’s departure was a ‘mutual decision’ and follows two profit warnings
and a slump in the share price since May.
Crossland said: “It is with regret that we have
reached this mutual decision and I thank Tim for his leadership in creating the
MyTravel brand and putting the group in a market-leading position in the
UK.”
