Going Places system completed


GOING Places has rolled out the final phase of its Matchmaker computer system to its 730 high-street shops.



Completion of the system comes 15 months after it was launched by the multiple.



The upgraded version includes Holiday Match which asks customers about preferences on accommodation and resort, rather than on specific destinations.



It simultaneously searches the database of two operators and then displays holidays which match the customer’s requirements.



Clients can then view photographs of the resorts and accommodation together with information about services and facilities.



Going Places sales and operations director Jill Martin said the system will help customers find the most suitable holiday without the need to plough through piles of brochures.



“It will help them establish exactly what they want from their holiday including how far away they want to be from the beach to what meals or board basis they would like,” she said.



Holiday Match searches two holiday types – beach sun which includes resorts from the Mediterranean to long haul and ski which covers Europe and North America.
