TSSA hits out over cuts to payments

TRAVEL trade union the Transport
Salaried Staff’s Association has launched a petition against First Choice
because of a reduction in commission to retail staff.

The TSSA claims it has been
inundated with calls from First Choice staff over a 10.55% deduction in
commission, which it claims is to cover the company’s National Insurance
contributions.

First Choice hit back by saying
staff had been informed about the deduction on monthly tactical incentive
commission but it only affected one strand of its three-pronged incentive
scheme.

Managing director UK distribution
John Wimbleton said the TSSA had failed to take into account the new incentive
schemes, which more than compensated for the deduction.

“Staff have gained from other
incentives and will be better off. I can absolutely guarantee they will be no
worse off under the new scheme,” he said.

TSSA development manager Jo Twite
said the union wanted to act on behalf of unhappy staff members.
