INDEPENDENT
travel agency chain Travelcare has made its biggest-ever acquisition with the
purchase of independent flight company Sunshare Vacations.
Sunshare
Vacations has a variety of websites, including cheapestflights.co.uk, and four
UK call centres. It employs more than 200 staff and reported annual sales of
£45 million last year.
It
will operate as a separate wholly-owned subsidiary of Travelcare, the UK’s
largest independent agency chain which is part of the Co-operative Group.
The move is part of Travelcare’s three-year plan to
boost direct holiday sales to 25% of overall sales.
