French strikes hit air travel

TRAVELLERS flying to France today (May 27) face serious
disruptions because of a one-day strike by French air traffic controllers.

Most ex-UK flights to France have been cancelled and
services are not expected to get back to normal until tomorrow afternoon. The
action is the first of three strikes planned as trade unions fight French
government reforms to state pensions. The other strikes are set for June 2 and
June 3 and are expected to coincide with strikes on the French railways.

Customers are entitled to full refunds or are being given
the opportunity to rebook free of charge.
