Kuoni denies Abercrombie and Kent rumours

RUMOURS Kuoni is considering a takeover bid of rival
tour operator Abercrombie and Kent have been denied.

Both operators branded the news speculation but
admitted they had thrashed out an agreement allowing Abercrombie and Kent to
plan programmes on the Clipper Cruise Line vessels in the US, part of the Kuoni
group.  Meanwhile, Kuoni is considering
using Abercrombie and Kent’s destination management services in Africa.

A Kuoni spokesman said: “We have agreed on this
but it’s purely on an operational level not a strategic level. We know the
company and they know us. We have not talked about any acquisitions.”

Two weeks ago there were rumours of a merger between Thomas
Cook and Kuoni, which were also denied.
