Factfile: Chalets – top tips

Top Tips

Chalets work well in countries where hotels are typically expensive such as France and Switzerland.

North American chalets are typically far more luxurious and larger than in Europe. Some even have Jacuzzis.

Chalets are good for people who are social and want to meet like-minded people.

Parties of under three people should ask whether there is a group booking filling the rest of the chalet -some people may feel overawed.

Many older character properties may not have en suite facilities in every room. Warn the client beforehand as some people don’t like sharing bathrooms.

Chalets can be good value for money for families as parents can put the kids to bed and make their own entertainment in the lounge taking advantage of free videos and other facilities.
