Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary has sold six million of his
personal shares in the no-frills airline for £26.2
million.
The sale represents 0.8% of the Irish carrier’s total shares.
According to reports, O’Leary still owns a 4.5% stake in the
airline, making him its biggest individual shareholder.
He gave no reason publicly for the sale. Each share was sold for
6.50 euros.
Meanwhile, Ryanair has reported 34% growth in passenger numbers for
last month to 2.9 million and rival EasyJet said its passenger
numbers rose by 21.9% in May, compared to May 2004, to 2.55
million.
British Airways’ passenger figures increased by 4.2% in May,
year-on-year.
