THE Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association is
undergoing a radical overhaul.
President Janice Hogarth has revealed plans to introduce a
training academy and to lobby Scottish Parliament on issues vital
to the country’s industry.
The association will also launch a PR drive to help increase
consumer recognition of the SPAA and hopes to use member agents as
a sounding board for new technology.
Hogarth said: “We’ve asked our agents what they
think of these plans and the reaction has been very
positive.”
The academy will be launched in August with training on the
cruise market after a tie-up with Passenger Shipping
Association’s Retail Agents scheme. Courses will be held in
Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Other topics to be introduced will include global distribution
system training, geography and selling skills.
