CADOGAN is close to signing a £4m, four-year marketing deal with an Italian tour operator which will see its product distributed in the UK.
All-inclusive specialist Valtur has selected Cadogan to handle and administer all UK bookings and to spearhead its marketing drive.
The Rome-based operator is producing 400,000 brochures with target sales of 8,000 in its first year, rising to 30,000 by 2003.
Valtur international sales manager Alberto Cirio said:”Our aim is to be the number one operator in the UK for all-inclusive holidays within five years.”
Cadogan managing director Gary David said an initial £500,000 advertising campaign will be followed by trade roadshows and agent training and educationals.
There will also be 25 on-the-road sales reps visiting 2,000 agents while a specialist bookings department will be set up at Cadogan’s Southampton head office.
“Valtur is little known by the holiday-buying public but that is going to change fast,” said David.
