Get involved in The Doorstep Challenge

Travel Weekly has teamed up with tour operator Superbreak Mini-Holidays to launch The Doorstep Challenge.

We want three travel agents to take up our challenge to show how easy it is to sell destinations within a two-hour drive of your travel agency.

Our challenge follows research by Superbreak that agents are missing a trick by not tapping into their local market and comes hot on the heels of the Travel Weekly UK roadshows, which demonstrated the level of interest in the domestic market.

Three agents from around the country will be given the chance to go on a domestic short break with a friend or partner, courtesy of Superbreak, in a region near their agency.

They will then be asked to report back and give ideas to other agents on how to promote nearby destinations more effectively.

To take part in the Doorstep Challenge you need to identify two locations or hotels within Superbreak’s current portfolio that are within two hours drive time of your shop and would appeal to your client base, plus answer the following question:

  • By what percentage can agents increase their annual UK short-break sales by promoting destinations on their doorstep?

Send us the answer with two locations/hotels on a postcard, with your name, the name of your agency, and contact details, to:

Doorstep Challenge,
Travel Weekly,
Quadrant House,
The Quadrant, Sutton,
Surrey, SM2 5AS

or e-mail it to: travel.weekly@rbi.co.uk

All entries must be received by July 14.
