Mundi Color seeks Italy specialists

EXPERIENCED reservations staff who have an in-depth knowledge of Italy are being sought by Mundi Color.

The operator is looking to recruit at least five members of staff following the announcement last week that it is to launch an Italy programme for 2007 (Travel Weekly, August 4).

As Travel Weekly reported, the operator, based in central London, is expecting to fill the gap left by Thomson’s decision to scrap its Magic of Italy brand.

Tour operations manager Ray Steward said: “We are looking for people who have got relevant experience and a good knowledge of Italy.

“One of the things that Mundi Color is known for is product knowledge, which is second to none. Our existing reservations staff know Spain and Portugal inside out and and we want to mirror that level of knowledge and expertise with our Italy product.”

Meanwhile, Mundi Color is to hold two fam trips to Italy in October to coincide with the launch of the operator’s Italy programme.

Up to 12 independent agents will be hosted on each trip, which will include visits to some of the exclusive properties in Mundi Color’s brochure, due out at the end of September.

Alitalia and the Italian Tourist Board have expressed an interest in getting involved. More fam trips will be organised next year.
