MAXjet Airways is to launch to more key US cities after seeing encouraging load factors on existing New York and Washington, DC routes.
The success of the current Stansted routes will allow the all-business-class airline to take delivery of two more aircraft early next year to give it five Boeing 767s. The carrier is also looking to add more aircraft to expand operations.
MAXjet said load factors of more than 70% in both June and July between New York and Stansted and 60% figure last month on its Washington, DC service had led to the decision to increase UK operations.
“The two new aircraft will be used to open new scheduled service markets and increase our charter operations,” said MAXjet chief executive Gary Rogliano.
“For new scheduled service markets, we are seriously looking at Boston and Las Vegas to London, as well as exploring several other major US destinations such as Los Angeles and San Francisco.”
As well as the scheduled routes, MAXjet’s luxury charter operations continue to grow with the acquisition of its third aircraft, expected to enter service in September.
This aircraft will focus on the growing charter business as well as being used as support on the New York and Washington, DC scheduled routes.
The charter business transports groups to various destinations throughout Europe, the Caribbean and the US.
A strong customer base of corporations, government bodies and professional sports teams means the airline is considering new routes and taking on additional aircraft.
