QANTAS has appointed Chris Rankin as general manager of Qantas Holidays UK with the appointment due to begin at the beginning of next month (November).
In his new role Rankin will work on maintaining close relationships with agents while growing and strengthening the operator’s position in its markets of Asia, Australasia and the Pacific.
Regional general manager for Qantas UK/Ireland, Middle East and Africa Stephen Thompson said: “This is a significant appointment for Qantas Holidays UK as we set about repositioning the business in a very complex and challenging market.”
Rankin has worked for sister company Qantas Airways for 23 years, the last 11 of which has seen him hold the position of Leisure Sales Manager UK/Ireland during which time he was responsible for a distribution strategy credited with driving the company’s leisure revenue performance and strengthening relationships with long-haul operators.
